Sadly Paolo Borelli, a great friend of Parma Fans Worldwide, passed away today, after fighting against a terrible enemy.
Paolo was a great Parma fan, member of Danè 1973, founder of Parma Museum, collector, bike fanatic.
We loose the kind eyes that all the abroad fans used to cross while visiting the Parma Calcio museum on match day. He was always there, telling stories about our beloved Parma and curious about the stories abroad fans had to tell, as all the cultured people are: open minded and curious.
Como Calcio fans group “Pesi Massimi” launched a fundraiser in support for some families in need strongly hit by the flood that recently affected Como Lake.
Despite the colors and the rivalries on the pitch, this is exactly what we like of football: build communities linked to territory that work together in solidarity for who is in need. Boys Parma and Centro Coordinamento Parma Clubs abitually do this, Pesi Massimi are a clear example that they are not the only ones.

Tickets for the first official match of the season, Parma vs Lecce, that will take place next sunday at 18 cest in Tardini for Coppa Italia 2nd round are for sale at this link for Tribuna Petitot and Visitors section. Curva Nord tickets will be for sale just in Parma province and Tardini box offices. The tickets office will not be open on match day.

We remember that, as reported on Parma Calcio website “Access to the stadium for those over the age of 12 will be granted only to those in possession of the COVID-19 Green Pass (vaccinated for at least 14 days or holder of a certification of recovery from Covid-19 in the previous six months, or a negative result of a test carried out in the previous 48 hours). The green COVID-19 certification will not be required at the time of purchasing the ticket but at the entrance to the facility, where each spectator will have to undergo a body temperature check. It should be noted that those who purchase a ticket without having the Green Pass will not be entitled to any refund. Parma Calcio underlines that other forms of certification will not be accepted, such as self-certification, which do not have a specific QR CODE issued by the Ministry of Health. QR CODES that have been issued by the Ministry of Health will be checked via the VerificaC19 app.
In line with the Stadium Rules of Use, it will be mandatory to wear a facemask during the entire event. In order to guarantee social distancing, it will also be mandatory for each ticket holder to sit in the seat assigned to them.”
Due to Covid restrictions there will be availability just for 3600 tickets in Curva Nord (5 euro) and Tribuna Centrale (10 euro). Green Pass or negative test (no more than 48 hours before) needed to get in,
Few days ago Parma Calcio published the results of the public questionnaire about the Tardini that highlighted the firm opinion that such an iconic reference for the town should not be moved somewhere else and that the majority of the people thinks a renewal is necessary, adding some new service that could allow to live it 7 days a week and keeping the ones existing -Iike the museum – there.
Even if the project is still not public, Boys Parma 1977 decided to write a letter in which they underlined some points they consider extremely important talking about a Tardini renewal. You can find the letter, in italian at this link.
Boys Parma 1977 consider the stadium a place for passion and not for profits, a place where all the history was built, and don’t consider a total renewal necessary. Anyway they are conscious that a fashioned “old style” stadium as they like is not possible nowadays but believe that to bring back people there what should be needed is a reduction of bureaucracy and restrictions to the fans (and keeping the price low in some areas) . Their thoughts are the consequences of decades of support and of travelling all around Italy and Europe: their point of view is the most experienced one, talking about who lives the stadium and saw the changes through the years.
In short, Boys focus on few important points all related to the identity of the place and to the importance of fans as people and not as customers: only in this way it is possible to build or, better, reinforce a Community, to keep the stadium full, to make it a point of force for a Club and a town. Boys believe that the name should remain the same, so the name of Curva Nord Matteo Bagnaresi with all the graffiti there since they are the history of the support in Parma, and the history of a Community made of people. Boys ask for an info point and underline that the Centro Coordinamento Parma Clubs CCPC should remain where it is – at Tardini gate – because of his fundamental work as point of reference for all the fan base. So the museum.
Curva Sud should be designed for families: popular prices same as in Curva Nord where no huge facilities are needed a part for the ones for people with disabilities.
Boys are worried that if a shopping center will be built it will be a non identitarian one (with some global brand): they suggest to give the places in order for their services to the Community and not just to their monetarization.
They specify these are just opinions made from their point of view, not a general considerations on a project, that it is still not public. They believe that the best way is a discussion with the entities involved to make the best for Parma Calcio and the Community.
All of you that came for at least one time to Tardini in the last five years surely remember the big graffiti on the left side of box office: a huge Alessandro Lucarelli while making a sliding tackle on former president Ghirardi, colpable of our failure in 2014/15.
That graffiti was a symbol of our came back, a tribute to our all-time-Captain, that never left even in worst times. Our renaissance symbolically started from that sliding tackle: Nuovo Inizio, Serie D/C/B triumphs, the new Krause Era, everything happened thanks to that first “act of force” by Lucarelli that stand with us taking our part against Ghirardi (and all the other evil people that tried to exploit on our beloved Parma Calcio), perfectly represented in the graffiti.
Few days ago that piece of art, representation of our recent history, was covered by another graffiti. We don’t know if it was caused by ignorance or if it was an intentional attack, we just know that such lack of respect will never cover our memories, our history, our pride for what Lucarelli did for us.

A Football community like our one is fed by the relationships between people. That’s why it is so difficult for us to go on with our daily tale in these weird times: no meetings, no relationships, nothing to talk about. There are already so many journalistic websites that fill pages and pages with match reports, tranfers rumors, gossips and whatever. That’s not us.
Parma Fans Worldwide was born to talk about Parma as an (international) Community. To bring Parma closer to abroad fans and help abroad fans to come closer to Parma: Parma town, Parma team, Parma fan base. In one word to give voice to all the Parma Family.
A couple of weeks ago, for a tragic event, we had a powerful demonstration of what the Parma Family is. It happened that a member of the Boys passed away. His funeral was endorsed and heart rending – like it always is when a 39 years young man pass away for a sudden illness – and once again demonstrated the strength of a Community. In the yellow and blue crowd you could recognize Sampdoria, Empoli, Rapid Wien, Bordeaux, even Genoa scarves to demonstrate once again how football is a matter of people more than a matter of players. Bietto left a huge hole in the Group and all his community compacted to relieve his sorrow and scream his tribute to his warrior.
We never talk about what happens on the pitch, as said, many others already do that well, but the message that Boys Parma 1977 launched couple of days ago is strong, clear, and it fits enough to make it ours: Let’s fight as Ultras for Parma and for who is watching us from up there.
It is during difficult times when it is more important to stay together, as a Community, as a Family. We have a big and strong one. Hold it tight.

I write while I cry, I write wondering about a lost football, that will never come back. I think that I would prefer go on like this, cuddled by my seven presidents, one better than the other, pride of an entire Town and fan base. Those who rebound the Club and brought it form serie D to where it deserves to be. Those who protected, team and town, from ill-intentioned and that waited and waited that the right moment came to deliver their creature into the right hands. And they did it for Love, don’t tel me I’m wrong. They did it for Love.
The same Love that a father needs to bring his daughter to the altar. I can barely imagine how hard it could have been and I damn it.
Damn this football that took away from me the best seven presidents I could ever desire. I had the dream they could last forever but it was not possible.
I would hug them one by one and cry on their shoulders. I would tell them thank you for the work, the passion, the love. Scream it in Curva Nord, together with fellows and friends. Scream all my pride for what we re and what they did , that we have been a Force, together. Scream to who will come after that he is welcome, if he will respect our history and if he will have the patience to understand who and what we are.
It cant be differente for us, that first we tasted what means – as forestér – to be welcomed by Parma Family.
But for tonight, I still damn this football that took away the best seven presidents I could ever desire. I had a dream. And tonight I don’t want to fall asleep because I know that tomorrow it will end.
