Nuovo Inizio back at the helm of Parma Calcio

We are supporters, not journalists. Our mission is to bring Parma Calcio and Parma closer to abroad fans and, hopefully, vice versa, but we think all you outside Italy would like to know more about what happened yesterday: the Nuovo Inizio back at the helm of Parma Calcio.

Nuovo Inizio – a 7 parmesan businessmen group composed by Guido Barilla, Giampaolo Dallara, Capital B in the person of Mauro Del Rio, Marco Ferrari, Erreà in the person of Angelo Gandolfi, Giacomo Malmesi and Impresa Pizzarotti in the person of Pietro Pizzarotti – refounded together with Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche, Parma Calcio 1913 after the failure. Nuovo Inizio had the intent to save Parma football team, restart football passion in Parma and entrust it in the hands of a reliable football specialized businessman that was found in Chinese Jihang Lizhang and Link International. Almost one year and an half ago they sold majority quote to the Chinese group, keeping the 30% (10% still in the hand of PPC, as you already know) and the promise of being the guarantee for Parma town and fans that they would intervene incase of need.

This happened yesterday. After Link International agreement non-fulfillment, due probably to Chinese government restriction on football investments, Nuovo Inizio exercised their rights and retook 60% of Parma Calcio. In their official statement and press conference they underlined intention of a capital increase and to keep being a guarantee for the Club future and, maybe future transfer to some real trustable investor, if there will be ever condition to. Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche will still have his role of citizenship representative and will keep having a member inside the board.

Just a quick overlook on who composes Nuovo Inizio. We will talk about them on WikiParma soon. A huge thank you to Facebook page Parma-Reggiana #maistatastoria, for conceding us to use their pictures.

WikiParma: Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche

lucarelli-4

We inaugurate a new section of the website dedicated to explain who are the main characters in Parma Calcio World: Nuovo Inizio, Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche, Museum Association, Centro Coordinamento Parma Clubs, etc.

First chapter is dedicated to Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche (PPC) that we had the chance to discover better during a chat with Franco Bardiani, that we thanks since now for his kindness.

At the end of 2014/15 season, a courthouse decided that Parma FC had officially to disappear due to failure procedure that was the consequence of Ghirardi/Leonardi administration. In two months, just two months, two different entities was born and took charge of Parma Calcio rebirth: Nuovo Inizio, a 7 Parmesan businessmen group about whom we will talk in next chapters, and Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche, the popular action started from Parma citizens.

Due to the impulse of Giorgio Orlandini and Marco Ferrari – that was also one of the “Magnificent 7” businessmen of Nuovo Inizio – PPC was born in July 2015. The idea behind it was absolutely innovative for Italy: bring a group of fans to have a quote of their football club. At the very beginning it was almost a sort of pact between friends to which various kind of people took part: not just businessmen but many normal citizens that decided to participate even with one singular quote of 100 euro value, that represented their personal brick to rebuild Parma Calcio.

The first subscription involved 144 people that contributed with different amounts – starting from 100 euro, one action cost – and that represented the 30% of the newborn Parma Calcio 1913. The remaining 70% was by Nuovo Inizio that participated with almost 2 millions euros. PPC represents Parma town and Parma fanbase inside Parma Calcio 1913 board: one of the 9 member of the board is Paolo Piva, lawyer, PPC council member. Having small percentage of a society doesn’t mean to have a huge voice in decisions but it is a way to have a look to what happens inside it, to be a sort of guarantee for Parma fans and citizens.

After the joining of Chinese new majority owner Desport (Hope group) that now got 60% of Parma Calcio 1913, the percentage of Nuovo Inizio is 30% and PPC has a 10%.

Despite the obvious quote percentage reduction due to new investment needs linked with fast promotions, the number of subscribers of PPC action is increasing until almost 900 people. Between them, not just citizens of Parma but also people from Canada, Israel, United States, Switzerland, France, UK…

We were Rangers

Credit to Marco Ferrari

As we use to do, we give you the chance to listen to Parmesan’s voices. Our mission is to bring Parma and Parma Calcio closer to abroad fans and this is one of the special occasions to do it.

You already heard Fulvio Ceresini reaction to first verdict on well-known investigation we had to relate to this summer. Now we propose you the post that Marco Ferrari, former Parma vice-president and co-founder of Nuovo Inizio, the Society that allowed, together with popular shareholder Parma Partecipazioni Calcistiche, rebirth of Parma Calcio three years ago, published on Facebook few minutes after the appeal verdict that determined Parma non-involvement in WhatsApp messages absurd affair.

+++this is a non professional translation made by fans for fans. You can find original italian version on Marco Ferrari’s – that we thanks a lot for his authorization – Facebook wall+++

“WE WERE RANGERS, ETOR CHE PIPPEINS (not Pippeins, ndt)

Since long time I have not an operative role and I don’t have a place in Parma Calcio society. I fell free then, in a strictly personal way, to share some thoughts on recent facts.

With all our limits, rebirth of Parma in just three years could have been a positive advertisement for italian football in general. They preferred spit on it. Many times. In less more than one year we have been put on all first pages of italian and abroad newspapaers for two of most infamous accusation in sport: football bets and sport illicit.

I still remember the headline of an important newspaper after Parma vs Ancona: “Parma, the shadow of Camorra”. Some facts of that days nauseated me and had an important role in my decision of leave every place in Society. Not even the time to forget ‘Pozzuoli millions’ – that never existed as all investigations demonstrated – that “Cazzein affair” begun. With Parma Calcio virtually relegated for sport illicit on websites and newspapers worldwide.

Calaiò messages – careless and inopportune – has never been a sport illicit. Common sense of everyone have ever been in a locker room and is little used to WhatsApp spirit and emoji says this. It is the pitch, that knows that Parma always got what deserved in these years, to say this. Finally, today, it is also a Judge to say this.

Today verdict cancel a spot put too much easily – by many – on our patch. But – sincerely – I can not be happy for it. Because in last two months we already suffered a condemnation that nobody could payback: we deserved on the pitch to be Rangers and they tried to make us seem Pippeins.

After hell tour in 2015, Parma fans, staff, team and everyone contributed to an historical venture, deserved to enjoy with enthusiasm Serie A return.

We all have been obligated to pass horrible weeks scanned by many, too many bad words in this Great Ugliness summer.

Waiting that Time – like a wise friend suggests – will put as usual ‘each queen in her throne and every clown in their circus’.”
