Last Copricurva and the Art of Boys Parma 1977

Last week, at the beginning of Parma vs Pisa, Boys opened an enormous cloth that covered the whole Curva Nord.

The most of you probably knows that it was the second time that copricurva – that represented the homage of Boys to the 2200th anniversary of the foundation of Parma town – was exposed. The first time it was on 22nd December 2018 for Parma vs Bologna.

What not everyone knows is how it was realized. This huge cloth, 30×50 meters big, was stitched and handmade painted the same way the big opera scenographies are. It took about one year of work, involving dozens of ultras under the direction of Massimo Levati, the real artist behind Boys most iconographic painted works.

Boys artworks are handmade. Projecting, planning, realizing and displaying them is a community work that involves the creativity and the manual labor of every member of the Group: from the first idea, to the search for a place where to work on it to the matchday display. It all takes money, time and a lot of work.

Our respect for all this is massive.
